Fiore, former ILVA worker of Genoa is one of many broken separated fathers that, forced into a situation where he can not react, lost socially but also politically, finds himself living overnight in his car. And then, because of a creeping gambling addiction and the loss of employment, the protagonist takes refuge in the lie, unable even to seek help from a world that had so quickly abandoned him.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Giovanni Aloi (italian, born 1984) studied film history and criticism at the University of Bologna and “arts plastiques” at Universitè Paris VIII. After graduating he started working as a writer and camera operator for the italian TV show “Le Iene” seeking for unconventional stories that could shock the audience. After his focus turned to production on documentaries and first of all biopics, in collaboration with the international videomaking collective called theSPONKstudios with whom got the chance to direct music video for artists such as Tying Tiffany (for the single “One” on heavy rotation on MTV Iggy Us in early 2013), Vanity (Rough Trade Distribution, UK), T.T.L. (featured in “The Hunger Games” movie trailer) and for the song “Anestesia Totale” starring the italian actress Isabella Ferrari.
He has directed “La Promessa”, a true story that took place in the early '80s about a football young rising star killed by heroin and “Lives”, a portrait of some of the biggest cinema authors including Charlie Kaufman, Mario Monicelli and, Michael Palin from the Monthy Python collective. In the lasts two years he has worked on his first feature “Pan Play Decadence”, and contributed part of the soundtrack.
