"Seventh Heaven" follows the everyday life of a young suburban (Sofiane) who does not manage to accept his sexuality described to be deviant by his circle, his family, his fellows and the ghetto where he lives. Sofiane is gay and homophobic, one day riffraff, one night fag, he is lost. He embodies the distress of idle and withdrawn youth through its inconsistency.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Guillaume Foirest was born on December 27th, 1983 to Saint-Quentin, in Picardy. After the death of his father while he is not another 6 years old, Guillaume will find in the friendship, the literature and the cinema a means of communication and expression essential in his blooming(self-fulfillment). After literary studies, he joined a school of cinema in Nice (ESRA).Patient, he waited three years before being able to realize hs first short film "GLORY HOLE" on a Maxime Alamo's script. The movie will be selected in several festivals like Clermont-Ferrand and will be distributed by DVD POCKET.
In 2009, he realized her second movie " THE STRANGER " who will make party of the list UNIFRANCE " shorts Cuts n°12 " to promote the French cinema abroad. The movie will be also selected in Clermont-Ferrand and several festivals abroad.Through his movies, a sensitive and singular approach of the human and loving relationships, between fantasy and reality.
The tragic quest of identity through the sexuality seems to be at the heart of its cinema and " 7TH HEAVEN " does not break the rule, by painting a portrait of a young person leaving in ghetto, Sofiane, who has difficulty to accept his homosexuality in a complicate social and cultural context.Today, Guillaume Foirest works on the development of two full-length films.
