Jack Richards is a fiftysomething theology professor obsessed with the "kidnapping" of his daughter by cult members. With the memories of his disappeared daughter growing more intense, Jack starts to descend into an insanity that reshapes his reality. The apartment where he lives and works becomes an entirely different place: he starts to suspect his neighbours of belonging to the cult. But above all, a question is gnawing at him more and more insistently: is Jack Richards the cult leader? First-time filmmaker B. P. Paquette weaves an intricate web around his central character. As seasons change and coloured filters are used to mark the different phases of Jack's mental state, we undertake a mind-bending journey into a troubled mind.
