Sparrow, age 10, wakes one morning to find a nest of baby mice in her sock drawer. She takes them to her sanctuary in a run-down house in the forest, but is unable to care for them. Sparrow returns home and finds her parents in the kitchen, and the reason for her need to find a family is revealed as she faces a challenge greater than any child should.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
L. Gabriel Gonda is a Seattle-based writer and director. His short film Tex: Vampire Hunter has played in film festivals all around the US and overseas, including 2010 1 Reel Film Festival, and was a finalist in the 2010 Cape Fear Independent Film Festival. He wrote, produced and directed Love and War which premiered at the 2011 Seattle International Film Festival, and won an award at the 2012 Canada International Film Festival. Most recently he produced and directed Brightwood which premiered at SIFF 2012, and won "Best Regional Film" at Tacoma Film Festival 2012.
