Faces. Landscapes. Workplaces. Changing places. Our presence in a territory in a changing society advancing at full speed. A document that shows some of these transformations, and puts them against a kind of persistence of human existence. Our lives as an open worksite to which history requires us to adapt. The contemporary era requires us to transform more and more rapidly and radically. A trip to the Val de Sambre as a metaphor for life and humanity. A look at changes in agriculture, factory closures, changes in city centers. An approach to revealing these changes in the lifestyle of contemporary society. I traveled through it all, I captured portraits of people in their environment, recorded sounds around them, some words, some emotions: this is my look that I share, modestly, in this historical moment in which we have a certain feeling of inevitability and an urgency in facing our destinies. But we will resist, we will manage to survive all changes, with our persistence. We must be patient, we must know how to look, to listen, to not hurry ... and still watch, listen, try again.
In an installation that is like a construction site in motion that will retrace the route of my trip, I invite you take the time to try to understand what is happening around us, day after day, behind the veil of everyday life. My work is an invitation o reflect on ourselves and on our role in the world around us.
