DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Tommaso Paino was born in Rome, Italy, in 1978. After his secondary school diploma in graphic design at the School of Arts of Urbino, he undertook a degree in cinema and audiovisual communication at the Academy of the Image in L’Aquila. During this period He directed, produced, wrote and edited several short films and documentaries. He also worked as freelance camera operator in Rome and Bologna documenting public events and concerts. In 2001 He founded and managed a cultural association for young artists in his home-town of Pesaro, where he organised a series of art exhibitions and concerts. In 2003 he moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he wrote and directed an experimental short, “Arachtomy” (2005) and “Raptus” (2007) a 13 minute degenerative romance. He has worked in Italy on freelance basis as set builder, visual artist for private parties and camera operator/editor in video documentation of public events.
He’s now based in London where he has worked as 1st and 2nd AD for a few short films and as assistant producer for a music video. In 2011 he completed the short film “Chrome” shot on RED camera, which he wrote and directed. He’s currently writing two feature scripts, a tv series and working on the post-production of an experimental audiovisual project
