STORY DESCRIPTION:

"A Car For a Dollar" is the incredible story of the Trabant. To wait 14 years for car was nothing new for people of East Germany.. A car made out of cotton fibres and polyresin, its' durability stays unbeaten to this day. Made during the Cold War in the Russian-governed East Germany to produce this car was a serious challenge for the engineers of the first hour. Interviews with the designers and inventors are followed by a very vivid world wide cult scene which developed after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
