The movie is a portrait of the life of a married couple. Antonia, a small woman, with
unforgettable features because of the traces of time in her face, with temper, milks her
cows in the dawn, but refuses to assist in the birth of a calf.
The "Charrito", a man in which the passing of the years are manifested in the effort he
must do everyday to work his land, without regret. He walks a path in the dark of the
dawn to begin his work, and acts as a midwife in the birth of one of his cows.
The movie told through the point of view of these two characters, makes us think about
the lifestyle of the people that live outside of the cities.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
In the year 2001 graduates from the Metropolitan Autonomous University of Mexico
City (UAM), majoring in Social Communication, specializing in video documentary.
He directs El rosto de la multitud (The face of the crowd), a documentary that
portraits the moment of euphoria that the youth lives with the Ejército Zapatista de
Liberación Nacional (Zapatist Army of National Liberation) as a part of his thesis.
After graduating, Ricardo embarks into the adventure of directing and working as a
cinematographer for television documentaries. During this period he meets the director
of the Violin film, and he invites him to work in the next project, in which, Ricardo
works as a coeditor in the most important Mexican film in the last ten years. Thanks to
that movie, that won 30 prizes in the world, is nominated as best editor.
That same year, 2006, enters to the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica
(Cinematographic Training Centre), where he actually studies the fourth year of
