An art critic named Helen is in the studio of Malevich, a prolific young painter, interviewing him for an article. She asks him questions about a radiant blue painting when he suddenly reveals the surface is laced with hallucinogens. Malevich invites Helen to lick the canvas, and after some subtle coercion, she does and has a vivid hallucination the two of them are making love. She then returns home to Paul, her loving yet domineering art dealer husband, and her journey begins from there. She is caught between these two men, the artist and the bureaucrat, and her own consciousness, unsure if she and Malevich really made love. This film explores not only the power of art but the nature of lust and fidelity.
