STORY DESCRIPTION:

A suspense thriller, DEATH OF THE VIRGIN is based on true events. Taking place in the town of Caravaggio, the movie is inspired by the apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1432 and the gruesome yet extraordinary paintings of the artist, Michelangelo Merisi who became known as Caravaggio.May, a young Canadian woman with a horrifying past, travels to the small highly religious town to take her vows into nun hood. There she begins to be plagued by disturbing dreams which become premonitions of real life murders that seem to be related to the paintings of Caravaggio. In an escalation of terror and madness, where dreams become reality, she discovers an obscure secret that digs deep into her past unraveling a shocking destiny.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:

Joseph Tito began to turn his concepts and ideas into film scripts, having completed eight screenplays to date, Random Thoughts (2002), Fidelity (2003), Windows (2004), Immortal (2003), Nothing Ever Changes (2004), Balla Che Ti Passa (2005), The Globe (2006) and Death of the Virgin(2009). Immortal celebrated it’s world premiere at the Toronto’s Inside Out 2004 Film Festival. It has also been screened at various film festivals worldwide, including Washington D.C., Sydney and Madrid.  In 2003, Joseph moved to Rome, Italy, broadening JEO Productions’ reach from Toronto to Europe. In Italy, Joseph completed a short film, Windows (2004), his adaptation of Kellerman’s Windows, a short story by the late Timothy Findley. Windows has been selected for various film festivals and won the 2005 Giuseppe Dessi Literary Film Festival for Best Director. In 2005, Joseph completed his first feature film, Balla Che Ti Passa (Dance As If No One is Watching) (2005), a collaboration with the famous Italian dancer and choreographer, Silvio Oddi. Balla Che Ti Passa  premiered at the Rome Film Festival in 2005, The Toronto Italian Film Festival (2006) and the Marbella International Film Festival(2006). In 2007 Joseph goes to Jamaica were he shoots 2 television shows, Mr Caribbean International and Blind Date. In 2009 Joseph completed Death of the Virgin a suspense thriller, staring Maria Grazia Cucinotta. Which is set to come out in 2010.
