STORY DESCRIPTION:

800 years ago, the Lord Genghis Khan, while crossing the Gobi Desert, was offered some water by a Herdsman as he was dying of thirst. He asked the Herdsman to build a water pole to help others trapped inside. Innumerable people got to survive thanks to the Genghis Khan Water Pole.

Nowadays though nobody needs water pole, Altegen, still guarded it with life while his cousin intended to turn it to a touristy place. Altegen flatly refused the request so to keep the holy vows passed by generations.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:

Born in 1953 to a Mongolian family, Zhuo Gehe studied filmmaking at the Beijing Film Academy. He has directed both films and TV series since 1986. His works include A DESERT LION (1987), Suo Miya’s Choice, STEEL BLOOD GOLD SOUL (1990), GENGHIS KHAN’S WATER POST and THE BLUE XANADU (2006). His film NIMA’S WOMEN is in official competition in the Montreal World Film Festival in the year 2008
