STORY DESCRIPTION:

A poetic and melancholic evocation of some volatile moments in Fernand's life, a little boy who lives with his mother Josette, his aunt Louise and a feisty dog, Colchique.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:

CATHERINE BUFFATI was born in 1966 in Bourg-de-Péage ( Drôme). I studied at the Fine Arts School in Saint-Etienne from 1984 til 1987. Between 1990 and 1998, I worked successively as painter, colourist and puppet animator at Folimage. At the same time I made some illustrations. « The Ogre » (a child book) is printed in 1998 (Editions du Ha ! Ha !). Between 1999 and 2004, I worked as animator for 2 puppets animation short films : « La cancion du microsillon » by Laurent Pouvaret and « A tv love » by Denis Walgenwitz. In 1997 I directed with Jean-Luc Gréco, a first puppet animation short film « Keepin’ mum ». Then came 3 more short films « Fini Zayo », « A stay », « The lost bag » and « Colchique ». In 2004 we (Anne Larricq, Laurent Pouvaret, Jean-Luc Gréco and me) have founded a production society : Les Films à Carreaux. We’re just starting a new film in cuts out « Partridges », a medieval musical.JEAN-LUC GRECOI was born in 1965 in Isieux (Loire). I studied the fine arts between 1983 and 1985 and grapfic arts between 1986 and 1988. In 1988, I went to Folimage studio and I made the lay-outs for several animated tv series and I worked as decorator for some puppets animation short films. I made some illustrations for books, poetry and flyers for the Bel Image Theatre in Valence. As independent illustrator I worked with some studios and I made two exhbitions in « The child book market » in Bologna and at the « Itabashi Museum » of Tokyo. In 1988 I directed with Catherine Buffat a first puppet animation short film « Keepin’ mum », in 2000 “Fini Zayo” and “A stay” in 2003. In january 2004, I’ve founded with Catherine Buffat, Anne Larricq and Laurent Pouvaret, a production society « Les Films à Carreaux ». Two animated short films have been produced in 2006, « The sad story of knave » directed by Anne Larricq and « The lost bag » that I’ve codirected with Catherine Buffat. We’re just starting a new film in cuts out « Partridges », a medieval musical.
