STORY DESCRIPTION:

This documentary film pieces together the professional dancing life of Antonio Gades as his own voice threads the story. A film that takes us to the fundamental landscapes of Gades’ personal life story through unpublished documents and the testimony of those that shared with him a great many pages of his life’s book and of the history of Spanish dancing in the last decades. The great surprise that the documentary holds in store for viewers is the as yet not published images of the dancer’s work. Viewers will see him with Alicia Alonso in “Ad libitum”, a choreography that the Cuban dancer made for the Chicago Opera, and in “Giselle”, the famous classic ballet piece, with music by Adolphe Adam, in which Gades performs the role of Hilarión; in “El amor brujo” by Falla, in which he performed the part of “The Spectre”; at the Scala, in the “Iberian Suite” by Albeniz, together with Elettra Morini, etc …
