A documentary film student Didem, who decided to go to the region upon the
attack of Israel to Lebanon 2006, hides this situation from her family. Following
the cease-fire arrangement she goes to Beirut by roadway. During her route and
the time in which she stayed in Lebanon she meets the local people, fisherman affected
by the war and political representatives. The children from Lebanon tell her the war.
Didem hasn't got a crew but the little son of the family near her is accommodating
undertaken her assistant...
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Didem Sahin has born in 1974 in Germany. She graduated from Marmara Universitiy Faculity
of Media Communications, Radio, TV and Cinema,Istanbul, Turkey. During and after the school she worked in TV channel and various TV Drama and series as a director assistant. She went to England for language education in 2002 and she stayed there a while. By the time she collected the stories of these who can not return and can not go . She has been awarded British Council Chevening Scholarship 2007 and studying MA Documentary Practice at Brunel University, London
The film 'Beirut' 'Don't tell my mum that I am going to Beirut' is the director's first film.
