CUATROVIENTOS relates the heroic deed of two Spanish aviators throughout the testimony of people directly related with the glorious flight of the plane Cuatro Vientos. On 06-11-1933 the “Cuatro Vientos”, an Spanish plane, landed on Camagüey (Cuba). The pilots achieved the record of the longest distance ever flown over sea. The accomplishment was celebrated for 8 days. On June 20th, the plane took off again from La Havana towards Mexico City. But the “Cuatro Vientos” never arrived.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
José Luis Velázquez Espinosa is the director of “CUATROVIENTOS”. Jose Luis was born in 1968 in southern Spain. He soon became interested in film and in 1986 he was already doing his first shorts. In 1991 he founded Dex Media Producciones and he has directed all the proyects at Dex Media. All the projects related with Dex Media have been characterized for its high quality level. In 1996 Jose Luis made a documetary called “La Leyenda de Doña María Coronel” (“The leyend of Mrs. Maria Coronel”). This documentary was priced in the in the XIX Iternational Independent Film Festival of Elche with the distintion of “BEST DOCUMENTARY.” In the recent years, Jose Luis Velazquez and his crew at Dex Media have been involved in two documentary series of 13 chapters and 26 minutes each: “Como el Agua” (“As Water Flows”) and “Colores” (“Colors”). Both of them were produced for the Regional Channel of Andalusia: Canal 2 Andalucía. CUATROVIENTOS is his last creation.
