DIRECTOR AND WRITER - DAVID MÁRQUEZ CUESTA
David Márquez was born in Barcelona in 1972. He begun Psichology degree but his passion for the cinema made him leave his studies to devote himself to the cinema. He graduated in Cinematographic direction in 16mm and 35mm from the Micro Obert School of Barcelona. He begun his professional career in advertising within the direction team of Tesauro Productions, shooting spots that gave him the opportunity to work with great filmmakers such as Javier Aguirresarobe and José Luis Alcaine.In early 2000 he goes to Madrid to study at the ECAM (Escuela Cinematografía y Audiovisuales de la comunidad de Madrid). For three years he attends classes from the best script writers in the Spanish cinema scene. He writes a few scripts for short films: Los calcetines rojos, Un asunto de córneas y Sara V produced by ECAM and TVE ( Televisión Española). Producciones Tai goes for his skills as writer with the short films Mujer frente al espejo (35mm) and La forma de mar (35mm).When he finishes his studies, David writes Buenas noches, papá (Feature), Entre la angustia y el placer (Feature) and Cielo vacío (feature in treatment phase. Co-writer).In 2005 he founds, with Rafael Mota, the production company Artificio Films. Where he writes and directs the short film Behind, a strong gamble on narrative and visual, featuring with one of the most consolidated actress in the Spanish cinema scene; Mª José Alfonso. And a young technical team with great cinematographic skills.
In 2005, David is selected by Casa América (Madrid) for the workshop directed by Gerardo Herrero on developing projects, where he makes the treatment and improvement of the feature film script Sumando.
