Highly decorated FBI agent Tony Cruz, heads an undercover operation inside a brothel to catch a psychopath nicknamed “The Cradle,” a man who has been killing and skinning prostitutes.When Tony faces this man, the lights of the brothel go out and pandemonium is unleashed. Tony begins having horrific hallucinations in the dark and “The Cradle” escapes.Tony is suspended from the FBI and visits a therapist who diagnoses him with Nyctophobia, an irrational fear of the dark. As the relationship with the therapist develops, we come to know Tony’s horrific childhood episode, when young Cradle broke into his home and killed his mother and abducted his sister as Tony kept hidden inside of a crawl space for three days before the police found him. Since then, he developed the rare condition but with the pass of time it vanished.Tony feels a strong sense of guilt as he blames himself for the disappearance of his sister. With the help of his FBI partner, Rocco, he embarks on a hunt for “The Cradle”, and a new lead takes him to get a job as the bodyguard of a former hooker, Rebecca Crawford, who is now a wealthy socialitè. He falls for this woman and goes through a vicious underworld following the trace of the killer.In his quest for catching this man, Tony will have to endure beating and torture, battle with his nyctophobia demons and in a series of nightmarish twists and turns, he discovers only his determination may let him find the key that could unravel his childhood trauma and his missing sister.

Maria Gabriela Cardenas is a 25 year-old director, producer, and writer from Caracas, Venezuela. Cardenas' interest for the Arts includes painting, photography, singing, dancing, and working behind the camera.At the age of 14 she already knew she wanted to become a film director and committed to several intensive film courses in Los Angeles, California.Later, she earned a Bachelor's degree in filmmaking and a Master's degree in Producing.Cardenas has done a variety of music videos, short films, including the award-winning short "The Grand Guignol" (2015). She spent two years preparing for her debut as a director for the film The Great Illusion, a psychological thriller that she also co-wrote and co-produced.As a devoted fan of the film noir and the thriller genres, Cardenas, along with her father, Oscar Cardenas, established a film production company, Path of Thorns Entertainment (TM), exclusively dedicated to producing horror and thriller movies.Maria Gabriela Cardenas has two other films in development: The Man With the Lion Face and The Bus.She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
