STORY DESCRIPTION:

It is summer and four old school friends, Julius, Camille, Romy and Sophia, are finally taking a long-awaited vacation together. Everything could have gone smoothly had they not been forced to bring along Camille’s little cousin: young, enigmatic Yvonne quickly tests the friends’ easy-going relationships. COSY COTTAGE tells of the story of mysterious, mute Yvonne and the group of four young up-starts who try to rouse her from her silence only to discover they will be the ones to break down. As soon as the friends arrive at the chalet they have rented in the mountains, they start to feel uneasy. Just when the cramped quarters and the endless hours of boredom become unbearable, strange forces turn the friends against one another. And when Julius, the group’s self-proclaimed lea- der, falls in love with Yvonne, the fragile ties that still bind them are broken. Chaos ensues: old jealousies are rekindled, forgotten wounds are reopened and no one knows who to trust. When it becomes clear to everyone that Yvonne, the strange outsider, has turned them into strangers, the atmosphere clears. Julius, Camille, Romy and Sophie then try to rebuild their friendship, struggling to forget their recent ordeal and to ease the pain they have inflicted and been inflicted.
