'Circus' is a film set in modern day urban India - a concrete jungle of glaring class divisions and contrasting lifestyles under the same roof. An Indian woman working in the corporate world struggles to be included in an office filled with men. Another Indian man, employed as a domestic helper in a wealthy home struggles to find his purpose. The consequences are devastating.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Tariq Vasudeva is an actor-director - having trained in Theatre from Denison University in Ohio, USA. Theatre has been a consistent part of his life - having studied it intensively in college. Tariq has worked with well known directors in India in Theatre and featured in many well-known television commercials. Tariq also acted in an award winning short film called - "Kusum - the flower bud" directed by Shumona Banerjee, that won the prestigious Silver Prize at the Busho Film Festival in Hungary. As Director, Tariq has directed multiple training films in the corporate world that inspire people to think differently about their biases in the workplace. He runs his own film production company called Open Sky Productions - and has recently directed and produced a television commercial as well. 'Circus' is Tariq's first fiction film as Director.
