Born in 1962 in Lisbon.
Fernando Vendrell graduated in Lisbon Film School, in 1985. He worked in film production as an Assistant Director for several years. He worked with Directors as Manoel de Oliveira, JoÃ£o CÃ©sar Monteiro, JosÃ© Fonseca e Costa, Raoul Ruiz, JoÃ£o Canijo and Manuel Mozos, and others. In 1990 he studied Arts Management and started working as Production Manager. In 1992 he line produced Fernando Truebaâ€™s BELLE EPOQUE, Oscar Best Foreign Film 1994. He collaborated then with AntÃ³nio da Cunha Teles as Executive and Delegate Producer for 5 years.
Founded DAVID & GOLIAS in 1992, since then he worked developing new film projects as a Producer, Director and Screenwriter.
He directed the feature films FINTAR O DESTINO (DRIBBLING FATE), O GOTEJAR DA LUZ (LIGHT DROPS) and PELE (SKIN) that were selected to major film festivals (Berlin, Edinburgh, New Directors New Films MOMA, etc.) and won several awards. He also directed short films, TV films and TV Series such as THE DAY OF THE REGICIDE and BOCAGE that were both nominated for the Monte Carlo International Television Festival.
