DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Born in Algeria in 1976, Orso spent his childhood and adolescence in Paris.While Studying Modern Literature at La Sorbonne University in Paris, he put his passion for Film into practise through his involvement on numerous amateur films.The encounter with Paris-based American Director Joseph Rezwin, former assistant to John Cassavetes, was the first step towards professional work in Film. He is the co-writer of Mister’s Rezwin feature debut, Killing Time, shot in Paris in the Spring of 1998, in which he also stars.In 1999, Orso moves to New York where he works for a few months at the film and television department of the French Embassy in Manhattan. He, then, attends the Film School at Columbia University where he starts his work as a Writer/Director. Three short films came out from this period: Nina, Freddy’s dead and his latest one 2 Songs.Since then, Orso moves back and forth between Paris and New York and has been involved in the writing of numerous projects of short and feature films, including Une Femme, from French Director and Writer Béryl Peillard, actually in development in France.While preparing a documentary project in Algeria, Orso is actually finishing the script for Sleepwalker, his first feature project.
