This short film is the directorial debut of the actor and author Alexander Khuon and deals with the tragic love of a teacher to one of his students. Karl keeps seeking for closeness to Juliana without realizing that this does not only endangers his job but even more the reputation of the innocent girl. Finally, he stays shy in the background and breaks down from his unfulfilled longing as his feelings after all become public and Juliana learns about his love.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Alexander Khuon was born on March 3rd, 1979 in Freiburg. He grew up in Constance and Hannover.
From 1999 to 2002 he attended the drama school „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ in Leipzig. Subsequently he worked as a stage actor in Dresden, Cologne and since 2004 at Deutsches Theater Berlin.
Additionally to his work for the stage he wrote the script to the feature film „Diebe“ („Thieves“), which was funded by the Federal Government and its Commission for Culture and Media (BKM) and was pre-nominated in 2015 for the German Script Award.
Also in 2015 he directed the short „Der Dicke Liebt“, based on the eponymous short story by Clemens Meyer.
