Daimon is a film that tells the story about four women and the relationship with their children. It goes from the pregnancy of Lucy up to the first three years of Laura’s son; from the seven years of Sara’s daughter to the seventeen years of Chicca’s daughter. The film connects their lives and their stories through a unique point of view, the director’s one. She researches into the observation and the dialogue with her friends the answers to all the questions that naturally rise when you decide to become a mother.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Born in Naples in 1971. She lives and works between Naples and Asti. Photographer and filmmaker, she obtained in 1998 a diploma in photography at the Riccardo Bauer Institute
in Milan. In 2008 she specialized in media arts film and video at the Academy of Fine Arts
of Brera in Milan. She has made several short films on the boundary between her personal story and documentary approach, for example ‘Dolls’ in 2006, a story in episodes about the life of four aspiring models who live in small towns in Campania region. In 2009 she won
the First Prize “Vela d’Oro” Best Documentary at the 27th Ed. Of the Bellaria Film Festival and the award-Preview Doc “AVANTI!” with the film ‘Molto visibile segretamente nascosto’ (Very visible secretly hidden), the story of a Ukrainian mother and her daughter forced by
the distance for work reasons to communicate through pictures and videos, intertwines the personal biographical story of the director. The film produced by Associazione Filmmaker during the FILMMAKERS DOC 13 International festival competition “Prima Persona” (First Person) was also selected to Casa del cinema Italia-Doc in Rome and the Cinemateca Uruguaya in Montevideo. In 2010 she was in artistic residence in the Netherlands Foundation B.a.d.
in Rotterdam and concluded a project exhibited at the Project Room of Museum MADRE, Naples. Daimon is her first feature film.
