STORY DESCRIPTION:

Two overly dedicated park rangers take a fantastic journey into a utopian society in this wildly witty spoof wrapped in a shoe-string mise-en-scene. After a couple of sexy sirens seduce the stranded rangers into joining their commune, our heroes have little hope of escaping back to their normal lives, at least, not without singing! That’s all well and good for the commune’s charismatic leader, the Professor, who’s creating a society with a new set of rules. Structured like the low budget sci-fi pictures of the 50’s and 60’s, B MOVIE used a healthy dose of irony and camp to make some grand criticisms of modern media, law and order, and environmentalism. The film features a score by Grammy Award winning musician Michael Leonhart, a sound design by Brian Langman (Secretary, Drumline,) an inspired cast including James Urbaniak (American Splendor, Henry Fool), Missy Yager (Boston Public, Six Feet Under), Dave Simonds (Amateur, Signs and Wonders) and others. B MOVIE was written, produced, and directed by Philip Dolin, who also wrote and sings the film's three songs. The movie was shot in 12 days and completed with the assistance of a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.
