It's Antonio's birthday, he and his wife, invite to dinner their two children (boyfriend of the daughter included). Everything was pointing to be the classic family's dinner until Marga presents with her new couple (Jorge), she's a former friend of Lola with who Antonio doesn't sympathize. In spite of the ridiculous efforts for showing off to be an educated family in the customs of the highest social class (thing that is not true), all the manners go away in the moment in which the conflicts begin to arise between one and others. Antonio's birthday turns on from this moment into an authentic delirium where all the characters get rebel of their family's roles, committing authentic madnesses and generating unexpected and shoking situations.Shamanic acts, collective nervous breakdowns, extreme discussions, hallucinations, untenable laugh assaults, the most improbable pursuit and fights, this are only some examples of the situations where Antonio and his fellow diners will meet wrapped in their own house.
Very enterteining, dark and luminous at the same time, surrealistic. "Antonio turns 50" is an story in which personal relationships exploits in a surreal trip. With many humor, subjects as jealousy, intolerance, fear and appearances are treated in this original first film of Alejandro Mira.
