STORY DESCRIPTION:

A Documentary about cyprus history and a blessing village of Ayia Phylaxis. A village of The blessed Virgin Mary. Memories about the past.Cyprus is situated in a preferential geographical position, under peaceful conditions results to an advantage and blessing over the other nearby countries. In contrary to the give and take competition and under the political battles in order to control the Mediterranean wealth it has been proved a total devastation and a ‘curse’. So our people has been found in all these years of his existence to be confronted with a tax and pain he had to pay just because he was the original inhabitant of the island that found himself in the middle of the interests of various conquering powers that were trying to rule the then know world.Disaster and pain was in our history. Special values were cultivated as our only defence. Everything was in God’s hands. Maybe is because of this that the island of Cyprus was an island of saint’s and martyr’s of Christian Orthodox religion.Everything around us reflects our Greek-Orthodox origin.
