Since her husband passed away, Albertine - an 81 year-old woman - decided to isolate herself from the world and disconnect from all social life, as she seems to wait for her death with haste. One evening, while the old lady tries with difficulty to change a light bulb in her living room, Ms. Liétard, the building’s tattletale, shows up at her place. Determined to give her a hand, she introduces Mr. Dumont to Albertine, whose intention is to let Albertine spend an unforgettable night...
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
After studying theatre at the Anvers Conservatory, Alexis Van Stratum applied to INSAS (The National Higher Institute of Theatre Arts) from which he graduated with honours in 2001.
He has already shot 3 short movies : « Trois variations sur un même thème » (2000) ; « les Enfants de cœur » (Sweet children ; 2001) and « Fast Forward » (2004).
Playwright and theatre director are among his skills, which allowed him to create the « Hystéries » and « Gare du Nord » shows with his own theatre company « Querelle ».
The recurrent themes of his work are the breakup, the difference and the loss. In a bright and colorful style, he always tries to combine both vulnerability and emotional sincerity, with breakups from musical comedy.- Avec ma mère à la mer (A son at sea)
