Amazement, ability, a little bit of cunning and desire to have fun, these were the basic ingredients of the traveling show business: Fair, Circus and Carnival. Between biography and collective history, a behind the scene view about these dream makers lives, their old fortunes and precarious present.
Eleonora Marino was born in Rome in 1978. She belongs to a great family of circus performers and carnies, but her passion for filmmaking took her away from her familys traditions. She graduated from DAMS of Rome, writing a thesis in Film Studies on Joris Ivens and the activist documentary. She currently works as a filmmaker and freelance editor. Beautiful Virginia Bathing is her debut as a documentary director.
