Sayo, a single girl working and living in Tokyo, visits her parents for her 30th birthday weekend. She suspects that her parents’ relationship is shaky. Not being able to become comfortable in her own home, Sayo visits her ex-boyfriend in the same town and spends the night with him, while at home her parents confront each other.
Born and grew up in Japan, Kimie Tanaka got a B.A. in Economics at the University of Tokyo. Working at first as a business analyst in India, she then moved to Chile and New York, where she started to pursuit a career in filmmaking. Lately she studied in Singapore, as MFA candidate in NYU Tisch Asia School of the Arts. Her debut short film Kotobuki/To Us won the Best Short Award in Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2013.
