The recently graduated Lorenzo Pierini faces a challenge: rebuild the rural hospital of Pirimiti, a little village in Malawi on the Jali road. World’s away from what he was used to, he faces this cultural exchange with enthusiasm to overcome the difficulties that he will inevitably encounter. The meeting of the architect’s rationality and generosity makes him want to give his Malawian workers something extra.
Born in Parma in 1983, he earned a degree in Cinema, Television and Multimedia Production at D.A.M.S., University of Bologna, in 2010, and
developed a passion for documentaries. As part of the Documentary Planning Laboratory, he shot the reportage “Verità di specchi: La DIS-informazione nel caso Aldrovandi” (“Mirrors Truth: The DIS-Information in Aldrovandi’s Case”), and wrote the documentary
“Indagine su una metro al di sopra di ogni sospetto” (“Investigation on a Metro Above Suspicion”), awarded
at the Collecchio Film Festival 2008.
