RIFF-is-back

RIFF is back and ready to blow your mind! Our 18th edition is full of unexpected miracles, chosen from thousands of films that came from all around the globe and made us very happy

I have the honor to let you descover you some of the presented works from Short International Selection that you can not miss out from RIFF 2019.
The film Ethel (UK)is based on a real life event that happened to the writer/director Jonny Wright, drama about dealing with Alzheimer’s. An event so powerful it burnt into his consciousness and developed over time into a gritty and grounded drama, starring Miriam Margolyes as Ethel – a heroine of our childhood and winner of BAFTA award that we remember from Harry Poter, Age of Innocence, Babe and many, many more. Tom CJ Brown with his short film – music video Cousin John – The arrival (USA) made magical, modernist queer daydream reinterpreting the 60’s classic song “Cousin Jane” by the Troggs. Stemming from his vision of what a wonderful queer, non-binary and non-conforming world we could all live in and aspire to, he engaged Hilton Dresden, performer/writer/influencer, to both re-record the Andood arranged song, and star as the lovesick and restless heroine of the film. Online (France) by Léopold Kraus shows us the social networks of today and costs of constant urge to post every single detail of our private lives online. Film In the name of the daughter (Israel) by Liran Shitrit, about a father who has lost his daughter in a terrorist attack and he will not stop until he gets justice, but at the same time talks about political games and corruption and what happens when law of one country is not in a service of his citizens.
Many more exceptional and completely different small miracles will be waiting for you to see and explore their great stories from 15th to 23rd November, come and join us and discover what else we prepared just for you!
