Operas primeras: women cineaste

The Spanish filmmakers are distinguished by their identity and responsibility in the Spanish production that deserves to be considered as a place to highlight the richness and plurality of the Iberian filmography.

This program, aims to present the first works of emerging filmmakers who work in very different fields but who support the validity of believing in cinema as a place for expression.

The cinema also has an outstanding debt with parity, despite the quotas set by law or the rupture against the idea that there are traditionally male jobs that have unabled the pioneers of the seventies. However, it must continue to be a framework in which to show the work of contemporary filmmakers and the nature of their works. The necessary legitimation of female narratives, their own aesthetics and the protagonism of their voices makes it possible to establish a program that highlights the quality of the directors who, whether beginners or not, are going for another type of cinema.

The exhibition combines two works of fiction and two documentaries. And even between these two genres you bet on different formats and approaches that enrich even more these early works. The two works of fiction take place in two spaces that were not traditionally open to the cinema.
