Marina Stepanska. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine. Graduated from the Karpenko-Kary National University of Film, Theatre and Television (Film Department, specialty: director, under V. Popkov and I. Fabish).
Marina worked at the experimental theatre “School”, where she studied the methodology of working with non-actors. She completed the 6-month Archidoc program for documentary filmmakers at the French national film school La Femis, and studied the theory and practice of editing at the apprenticeship with editor Valdis Oskarsdottir (Iceland).
She made a few short films. Her scripted feature debut “Falling” (2017) received several awards at international film festivals and 3 awards at the National Film Awards “Golden Dzyga” in 2018.
