The Velasco family is made up of Leo, Alicia and their four-your-old daughter Dafne. They lead a conventional life in Madrid, Leo is always very busy and Alicia is in charge of the child. During the Christmas Holidays, Alicia suddenly dies after having an epilepic fit and her husband is left alone with the little girl. Dafne is terribly affected by the death of her mother and is constantly looking for a mother figure so Leo, who tries to give her as much attention as he possibly can, will abandon himself to the extent of jeopardizing his own identify.
In 1984, Achero Mañas started taking classes in the Real Stage School in New York City. After that, he returned to Madrid and started working with many prestigious director such as Adolfo Aristarain, Carlos Saura, Ridley Scott and Jorge Grau, José Luis Cuerda. He decided to abandon acting when his daughter Laura was born, to start writing. In 1995 he wrote and directed his first short film "Metro". Mañas realized as film director several short films and documentaries and three full lenght feature films, in 2000 with "El Boia" he won an important international award as Best Movie.
