focus on DOGMA 008

The Dogma Seminar 2008 will be an innovative, challenging and reflexive moment, the new Italian cinematographic manifesto that is growing beyond any limit. This Dogma 2008 evolves the Dogma 1995 created by the Danish director Lars Von Trier. It was created and founded on precise rules, expressed on the 2008 manifesto by the Margot Productions Srl and in particular by its founders: the actors and directors Jonny Triviani and Giulia Carla De Carlo (that will participate to the seminar). The basic rules of the Dogma 2008 answer to directing truthfulness and scenic functionality. From these two basic rules, other several rules take shape. The Dogma 2008 wasn't spontaneously born, but was strongly wanted to stop the useless and excessive cinematographic expanses. The prime target is to evolve cinema in its art-shape, that gives a message to the audience (whatever it is) but not uselessly self-referred. The rules to be followed to reach this aim have been expressed in a written manifesto and its core point is to protect the story and the message. The Dogma 2008 has immediately started with two movies on the market: “The Shorts War”, several kinds of movies, all linked by a unique theme, and Eden, focused on social problems. The Dogma 2008 has also assigned its mark to the Videoclip Monnalisa, shoot under the specific rules of the manifesto.
