Story description:
77-year old Max has become adapted to living according to a well-laid-out routine, ever so aware of his isolation from the outside world. Today Max takes a leap. He visits a place long locked away in memory: the football stadium.

Director Biographical note:
Melanie Pieper was born in 1983 in Hamlin, Germany. After graduating from school in 2002 she worked in Dublin. From 2003 to 2006 Melanie completed a BA hons in Film Studies with Arts Management at the London Metropolitan University. During this time she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and volunteered on different theatre productions. In 2006 she worked as facilities assistant at Objective Production Ltd. in London before returning to Germany at the beginning of 2007 after almost five years. Since then she has been working as production assistant, AD, and camera operator on various German film-, arts-, music video- and cultural projects. ‘Abseitsleben’ is her first ambitious work as director.
