Story description:
Heitor e Giulia escono insieme da molto tempo. Cala il tramonto sulla cittŕ di Săo Paulo mentre la coppia discute animatamente al telefono. Angosciato, Heiter entra in macchina e parte in direzione della casa di Julia. Percorrendo la cittŕ paralizzata dal traffico Lina ci mostra le vie dell’amore, della perdita e della morte in un contesto sociale di una situazione urbana.
Heitor and Júlia have been dating for a long time. Dusk is falling in the city of Săo Paulo and the couple is having a violent quarrel over the phone. Anguished, Heitor enters his car and goes off in the direction of Julia’s house. Through his journey into the jammed city we see the possibilities of love, loss and death in the urban situation and it’s social context.

Director Biographical
note:
Lina Chamie si č laureata alla New York University e ha conseguito un master degree in musica presso il Manhattan School of Music. In Brasile ha diretto molti video ed ha ricevuto un premio con il corto I Know That You Know. Tonic Dominant č il suo primo lungometraggio e ha ricevuto molti riconoscimenti tra cui il Kodak Vision Award e il Premio dell’APCA. The Milky Way, il suo secondo lungo, ha vinto il premio della Casa de America al Cine en Construcción in San Sebastián ed ha visto la sua anteprima mondiale al 46° Settimana della Critica Internazionale di Cannes nel 2007.
Lina Chamie is a graduate from New York University and has a master’s degree in music by the Manhattan School of Music. Back in Brazil she has directed many videos and the prize winning short film I Know That You Know. Tonic Dominant is her first feature film and has received many awards including the Kodak Vision Award and the Prize of APCA. The Milky Way, her second feature film, won the prize Casa de America at Cine en Construcción in San Sebastián and had its world premičre at Cannes’ 46th International Critics Week in 2007.
